Nika-Tera terminal (SSP Nika-Tera LLC is a part of Group DF) was recognized by the National Maritime Rating of Ukraine in two categories at once. The port was honored with a New terminal memorial sign (for construction of a silo-type grain elevator with capacity 170,000 tons) and a Golden Berth award (for putting into commercial operation two berths with the total length of 551 meters).

The National Maritime Rating is published since 2007 by the Ports of Ukraine Publishing house in cooperation with BlackSeaTrans, information and analytics center. It is supported by the relevant ministry and the most influential field-oriented associations, namely: Ukrport, Association of Ports of Ukraine, Union of Port Operators Association, Association of International Expeditors of Ukraine (AIEU), Association of Marine Agents of Ukraine (AMAU) and the Black Sea International Ship-owners Association (BINSA).

Winners in the majority of categories are defined according to the results of the ratings which are built basing on performance indicators of the enterprises, as well as evaluations by the field experts. This year rating defined 49 prize winners in 20 categories, representing various segments of maritime sector in Ukraine. The awards ceremony took place in the premises of Odessa Sea port on March, 27.

Alexander Gaidu, the Chairman of SSP Nika-Tera LLC, in his speech emphasized that the terminal is being developed not only due to the proper management, but because the enterprise owner, Dmitriy Firtash, the Chairman of the Management Board of Group DF, continues to invest significantly in the port development. Since the arrival of new owner (end of 2011), USD 105 million were invested in development of Nika-Tera, including USD 50 million – investments from Group DF.

“The investor contributes capital because he believes in growth of our business. From the global point of view, we are building a modern competitive port that is functioning in compliance with the best world practices. It is logical that new approaches in management allow performance improvement, attraction of new clients and increase of transshipment volume”, — commented Alexander Gaidu.

In 2014 Nika-Tera sea terminal increased its transshipment from 3.7 up to 4.5 million tons of cargo.

The terminal invested UAH 347 million in construction of the new grain elevator which was awarded by the National Maritime Rating this year. This project includes construction of 18 silos with capacity of 170,000, and the total capacity for all grain elevators in the port grew more than five times – from 40,000 tons up to 210,000 tons.

It is not the first time Nika-Tera sea terminal becomes a winner of the National Maritime Rating of Ukraine. In 2012, Nika-Tera port was awarded The Golden Ton memorial sign for the record cargo tonnage in its history. According to the results of 2011, the terminal processed 4.7 million tons of cargo. And in 2013, the enterprise was honored with the award The Golden Berth 2013 for construction of two berths and The New Terminal 2013 for putting into operation new 1.7 million tons capacities for transshipment of mineral fertilizers.
