Nika-Tera seaport helped the doctors of Mykolayiv

Nika-Tera seaport, a member of Dmytro Firtash’s Group DF, supplied the medical institutions of Mykolayiv with medical equipment and individual protective gear.

Assistance was provided to the Mykolayiv city hospitals No. 1, No. 3, No. 5, outpatient clinics No. 6, Mykolayiv maternity hospital No. 1, Primary health care center No. 7 and Regional center for treatment of infectious diseases. Altogether, the doctors were handed over: 23 oxygen concentrators, 3 mobile bactericidal irradiators, 2 laryngoscopes and more than 26,000 individual protective kits.

“In total, equipment, drugs and individual protective gear worth more than UAH2,000,000 were purchased for doctors. This assistance is systemic. The partnership between the business and local authorities in the fight against COVID-19 has yielded some definitive results, i.e. the epidemiological situation in the region is improving,” said Alim Agakishiev, CEO, Nika-Tera seaport.

According to him, the position of the shareholder of the company remains unchanged; business should assist the regions were it operates. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the seaport representatives, local authorities and doctors, the company’s specialists promptly responded to all requests coming from medical institutions.

“Assistance from the seaport is a real-life example of what the real social responsibility of the business is. They did not wait for the doctors to ask, but advanced the initiative to the doctors and the city authorities. Such approach and values of entrepreneurs make the life of Mykolayiv residents safer, and medical services become better and more accessible,“ – said the mayor of Mykolayiv Oleksandr Senkevich at the award ceremony ”The Person of the Year. The Town Person of the year».

Nika-Tera seaport contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic was duly appreciated by the Mykolayiv Citywide Program “The Person of the Year. The Town Person of the year». The seaport became the winner of the special project “Charity for the sake of life” for assisting the medical institutions of Mykolayiv during the pandemic. In 2020, the seaport contributed more than UAH3,000,000 for charity, of which most part (more than UAH2,000,000) was allocated to support medicine.
