Dmitry Firtash: SME support funds should be established in all regions of Ukraine


020395Dmitry Firtash, President of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine has urged businesspeople to use active efforts towards establishing small and medium enterprise support funds across the whole of Ukraine. Such investment funds capitalized with contributions from local businesspeople may create up to 30 thousand jobs within 5 years to come. Mr. Firtash has stressed that employers may and should play a pivotal role in putting in place a small and medium enterprise support system.

 

“If each of us donates 20 or 100 hryvnias in our respective communities, we will help a good deal of boys and girls set up their businesses,” explained Mr. Firtash addressing delegates of the FEU Congress.

In 2012, Bukovyna Investment Fund established with an eye on supporting small and medium enterprises started its operation in Chernivtsi region. To date, about 1 million UAH have been allocated to finance the first seven projects. According to Mr. Firtash, soon enough similar funds may be opened in Kharkiv, Sumy and Poltava regions.
