Concern Stirol’s young players win Ukraine’s Futsal Cup


futzal_stirol1-300x209The Stirol team from Gorlovka proudly boasts a new trophy – Ukraine’s Futsal Cup of the 2012 season.

 

The tournament involving the nation’s strongest U-12 teams took place in Ivano-Frankivsk from 31 November through 6 December. Eight contending teams were split into two groups and according to the draw, the Gorlovka boys confronted the local Uragan (who they beat 8:0), Lviv’s Energhiya (match won 4:0) and futsallers from the town of Gorodenka of Ivano-Frankivsk region (another win 2:0). Successfully making it to the semi-final with a zero missed goals score, Stirol played Donetsk Orlain who they confidently beat 8:3.

 

The finale played on December 6 featured another Stirol vs. Uragan duel in which the Gorlovka players have again shown the best of themselves scoring 5 goals and missing just one.

 

The next challenge for young Cup winners will be their participation in the Championship of Ukraine hosted by Gorlovka in February 2013.

 

Notably, Stirol players make up a core of Ukraine’s U-12 national team. The boys attend a specialized class and get coaching at school #47. Gorlovka team’s coaches expressed their appreciation to OSTCHEM and Concern Stirol for their assistance and support.
