Titanium dioxide is a white pigment widely used in the production of paints, coatings, plastics and paper. Besides, industrial applications include the production of glass, electronics, cosmetics and other consumer goods.
Having non-toxic chemical properties and superior brightness and opacity, titanium dioxide is increasingly replacing other traditional pigments across different industries.
Ukrainian Chemical Products
Ukrainian Chemical Products (previously “Crimea Titan”) is the largest titanium dioxide producer in Eastern Europe and supplies about 2% of global consumption. Around 80% of Ukrainian Chemical Products production is exported to more than 60 countries, with its share of Russia’s titanium dioxide consumption amounting to about 30%.
In 2012, a new sulfuric acid shop was launched, making it possible to increase annual titanium dioxide production capacity at Ukrainian Chemical Products to 120,000 tonnes. Further Ukrainian Chemical Products expansion plans include the construction of a new high-tech titanium dioxide workshop with annual capacity 240,000 tonnes of titanium dioxide.
