OSTCHEM Holding, comprising Ukraine’s leading chemical enterprises, has completed another stage of its comprehensive program to modernize production capacities of CJSC Crimea Titan. Reconstruction of the Titan-2 shop provided for a 10 percent increase in the output of titanium oxide, the company’s principal product.

Titanium dioxide production capacities were boosted with the construction of two additional chloride units and an upgrade of the gas purification system. As a result, productivity of the chloride unit at the Titan-2 shop increased 15 percent, which provides for an additional 10 thousand tons of titanium dioxide a year. The latest stage of the modernization of CJSC Crimea Titan was carried out between August 2007 and May 2008 and saw investment at about 11m hryvnas.

“Our accomplishments in the reconstruction and modernization of production provide perfect proof of our efficiency, - says Alexander Nechayev, Chairman of the Board of CJSC Crimea Titan. – Success in production and financial activities allow us not to stop at this and continue vigorous investment in the plant’s progress. Modernization is to embrace all the principal production facilities at Crimea Titan. Equipment performance today is a far cry from what it was a mere two or three years ago. We comply with all our obligations before the state. The development of CJSC Crimea Titan is the development of the county’s titanium industry”.
